History
DIVERSE BACKGROUND
Scott started his career in Tech with a decade at IBM and Silicon Valley startups before venturing into entrepreneurial success across various sectors including international architectural fabric construction, domestic real estate development, and resort town restaurant & hospitality. He has been dedicated to the emerging global cannabis industry since 2014.
PIONEER IN THE CANNABIS ARENA
Engaging at the very inception of the legal industry in Colorado, he founded a THC Infused Products Company (MIP) pioneering low-dose single-servings enhanced with synergistic functional ingredients. He sold this venture to Industry pioneer O.penVape and played a pivotal role in establishing them as 'OrganaBrands', becoming the largest THC products conglomerate at the time. Scott spearheaded product, brand, and business development, which included a Cannabis Cup win in 2016 for strain-specific distillate vaporizer cartridges. The company was taken public a couple of years later and 'Craft Reserve' remains its top-seller.
EARLY FOCUS ON THE EMERGING HEMP/CBD MARKET
Recognizing the nascent potential of the Hemp/CBD market as early as 2015, Scott traveled to the Yunnan in China to source Hemp varietals and large scale extraction capabilities.
After advising the Chinese public/private partnership 'Hempson', he assisted in placing the very first exports of CBD Extracts into the US and the European Union.
EXPANSION OF CBD & HEMP PRODUCTS INTO THE EUROPEAN UNION
After an interim stint with vertically integrated Silverpeak Dispensaries back in his hometown of Aspen/Snowmass, he then founded Collective Hemp Brands (CHB), developing fully compliant CBD and Hemp Oil products designed for Mass Retail chains in Europe. Scott's company was the first to achieve Mass Market Retail shelving in the EU, achieving significant market penetration of 2,300 "DM" Retail Drug stores (EU equivalent of CVS/Walgreens) until dramatic regulatory shifts in Germany halted operations in 2019.
GLOBAL INDUSTRY CONSULTANT
Scott has since worked as a Global Industry Consultant spanning from Southeast Colorado to Northern India and Casablanca Morocco, with the likes of IHS-International Hemp Solutions, GPS-Gateway Proven Strategies, and GCG-Gordon Cannabis Group. He is actively seeking new Consulting opportunities globally, and/or C-Level Executive roles in Business Development.
